late night blogging

i've just decided that i should never consider blogging late at night. i become far to truthful and vulnerable. so, i'll leave you with a photo of some string, a railroad tie and grass.

the all-american game

i have to say that there is nothing quite like a baseball game. when i'm at a baseball game, i feel more american than any other time. it's a time honored summer tradition in our country. it's the smell, the excitement, the hot dog and watching my nephew so completely enthralled. he, of course, had to get some autographs and i accommodated. it would've been cruel not to.

they had to run this guy down to tag him out. i was pretty funny.

and the game ended with some great fireworks.

small group

wednesday nights at my house are sacred. it doesn't matter how bad my day/week/month/year/life is or how intimidated i feel about leading over 20 twenty-somethings. that time is sacred.

i pray constantly that my home will be a home of peace and that when people enter my house that their baggage is left at the door. i pray that God binds the forces of darkness that torment each of us. i pray that in my home only truth will be heard and that the lies of the enemy will be bound.

God is doing a great work in the Fishers of Men small group. please pray with me that God will continue this work and more than anything this is a plea for prayer on my behalf. God has placed people in this small group that need Jesus. They need to except Him as Saviour or start living their lives like little Christs. a lot of times i don't know how to lead but God does. i guess what i'm saying, pray that i will constantly be sensitive to how God wants to lead through me.

the bunnies died

so after middle-of-the-night feedings and stopping our lives briefly to help the bunnies survive, they all died. it was very sad but we were comforted with the fact that it's very hard to keep bunnies that tiny alive, even by trained wildlife rehablitators. on that note, i thought i'd at least post a couple pics of the little guys.

since these bunnies stole our heart we will be purchasing a bunny from a local breeder who also happened to be my highschool principal. depending on the sex of the bunny we are considering the name dundee.

may

it's may and i have 3 orphaned bunnies and a deck full of flowers to plant (clarification: i'm not planting the bunnies just feeding them and praying they survive to be released). i need to get some pics of both up here...

book stack

so, this is what i've been reading/studying the past couple of weeks/months.
on the bottom we have some really intense reading, a wonderfully entertaining Get Fuzzy "Looserpalooza". then i have the Archaeological Study Bible that i've been using in my research on the book of Galatians for care group. then i have the Zondervan Handbook to the Bible also what i use for Galatians research and my quiet times. i also use Search the Scriptures for my quiet times. i've been reading Arthur on and off for the past couple of weeks. the stack of papers there are a for my Galatian research. i've been reading Prayer by Philip Yancey for the past couple of months. it's a ruminating book. there's my Journaling Bible. and finally Piercing the Darkness by Frank Peretti. i read This Present Darkness last summer and decided it was about time to read the second book in the series.

little league

i spent the morning watching my nephew's baseball game and goodwill (i needed a break from the heat and sweating.) then i took a trip to lou's to stock up on discount groceries. when i got home i threw some chicken in some marinade and then biked over to j and jill's to catch up with rachael. when i got home i threw some chicken kababs on the grill. i also made an amazing strawberry smoothie with peppermint and chocolate. so, on that thought, i'm hanging out on the couch watching "chuck".
it's been a great day.
